Terrence Howard, currently appearing in ‘The Butler’, has been called a “deadbeat” by his former landlord’s lawyer, saying that Howard squatted in the SoHo apartment for over a year without paying rent. The landlord claims Howard owes him over $50,000 in back rent.

A lawsuit has been filed against Howard claiming he lived for months in a $4,000/month West Broadway apartment, until he was finally evicted.

Howard signed a lease on the apartment in November 2011, didn’t pay rent for months and didn’t move when the lease was up the following November. Howard was finally evicted from the house in May. 

The landlord’s attorney states, “There’s no dispute. The issue is strictly the nonpayment,”
