Turns out that Beyoncé isn’t pregnant after all, husband Jay-Z says. The rapper, responding to a congratulatory e-mail from the program director of New York radio station Hot 97, said talk last week that he and Beyoncé were expecting their second child was false.
Reports last Friday sought to use the pregnancy rumor to explain Beyoncé’s recent ailments on tour, including a show she canceled last Tuesday in Belgium. Multiple sources at the Met Gala told the New York Post that Beyoncé was expecting. E! News also reported the “Bow Down/I Been On” singer was sporting a baby bump at the Met Gala following speculation by attendees.
Beyoncé addressed the rumors over the weekend with an Instagram post, according to the Daily Mail, writing, “I can’t stop the rumors from starting, and I can’t really change peoples minds who believe them, all I can do is sit back and laugh at these low life people who have nothing better to do than talk about me.”
It’s unclear whether the singer posted the image herself, as it currently does not appear on her Instagram feed.
Although Beyoncé has said that she wants Blue Ivy to be a big sister, it seems that her current priority is finishing her world tour. The Mrs. Carter Show tour hits the U.S. in June, following European dates scheduled through May, and will wrap in August.
