Lil Scrappy, one of the stars of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” is wanted by police in Atlanta for allegedly refusing to give them a verifiable urine sample.
Scrappy, whose birth name is Darryl Kevin Richardson II, was required to hand over the sample as part of his probation following a 2008 arrest for marijuana possession.
Officials say the rapper attempted to give police a cold urine sample, which could have been tampered with, so they would not accept it.
He allegedly refused to give them a new sample, denied there was anything wrong about the cold sample, and dipped.
Authorities have now issued a warrant for Scrappy’s arrest, saying he violated the terms of his probation. His attorney, Mawuli Mel Davis, says Scrappy will appear in court in mid-May and hopes the judge will revoke the warrant.
He added, “Since Mr. Richardson’s release from jail, he has been reporting to probation as ordered and doing his best to comply with all conditions of probation.”
Nevertheless, sources say Scrappy has decided to turn himself in this week with “L&HHA” cameras rolling as he does so.
FYI…Scrappy was locked up in 2012 for a prior problem related to his probation.
