MAN KILLED IN NORTH SIDE HOME INVASION
The man killed in a home invasion on the City’s Northside is 67 year old Thomas Tefft. He and his wife were in the home when the assailant came in through an unlocked patio door.
The man who came into the home was described as black. He was wearing a ski mask, a black stocking cap and a gray hooded sweatshirt, police said.
The woman grabbed a cellphone and locked herself in a bathroom.
Police are on the lookout for the couple’s black 2009 Hyundai Sonata with Indiana license plate number: IW813.
MAN KILLED OUTSIDE MALL IDENTIFIED
The man found shot and killed outside Lafayette Square Mall has been identified.
21-year-old Robert Mitcham, was killed Wednesday after being shot in the head.
He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Homicide detectives are currently investigating Mitcham’s death.

ONE DEAD AFTER SHOOTING ON NEAR-NORTH SIDE
One person was shot and killed in an alley on the city’s city near-north side overnight.
Investigators said the shooting happened just before midnight near 30th Street and Capitol Avenue.
Police say, The victim, whose name has not yet been released, had apparently been shot several times.
DRIVER KILLED WHEN TREE FALLS ON I-70
At least one person is dead after a tree fell onto Interstate 70 last night.
The accident happened on westbound I-70 in Clay County.
Officials said a Semi-Truck Driver ran into the tree, sending the truck down a ravine.
The driver pronounced dead at the scene.
MAN HIT AND KILLED BY TRUCK WHILE WALKING ON -70
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Semi on Interstate 70 near Post Road early this morning.
The driver of the truck thought he hit a deer and stopped at the next exit.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m.
Police are trying to figure out why the man was walking in the lanes of traffic.
INDY PET SHOP SHUT DOWN
An Indianapolis Pet Shop is without it’s pets this morning, after Indianapolis Animal Care and Control Officers confiscated almost 400 animals and issued 581 violations after inspectors found hundreds of dead animals and filthy conditions at “Fish Bowl Pet Supplies.”
The owner, says he was given 48 hours to fix the issues but he wasn’t able to finish.
The shop’s license has been suspended at least until a court hearing next week.
