One fact that can’t ever be denied is Quentin Tarantino‘s ability to tell stories, like Django Unchained for example. The director told us another tale recently, this time involving Wilt Chamberlain. You know. That guy who claims to have slept with over 20,000 women and also happens to be the NBA’s all-time leader in rebounds.

Tarantino appeared on NPR’s “Fresh Air” to talk about Django and dropped an interesting little tidbit about his growing up. He said that while he was a kid growing up in the ’70s, his mother lived in this “swinging singles apartment” with two of her friends: “her best friend named Jackie was a hot black girl and her other best friend, Lillian, was a hot Mexican girl.” Probably would make an interesting sitcom.

Anyways, Tarantino dropped a gem while he was discussing his living situation. “It was the ’70s, and I was living with these three hip single ladies, all always going out on dates all the time, dating football players and basketball players,” he said. “Oh yeah, my mom, she dated Wilt Chamberlain. She was one of 1,000.”
