If you ordered a White Christmas, its coming, a bit late but will pack a punch!

The entire 106.7 WTLC Listening area is now under a Blizzard Warning, until 7pm Wednesday night. Snow will be accompanied by wind gusts of 40 mph.

UPDATE:  Indianapolis Mayor Ballard declares City offices will be closed Wednesday due to snowstorm. “Non-essential” personnel should not report to work.

A blizzard warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must travel, bring a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

A massive winter storm will hit a large part of the country, impacting cites from Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, to Atlanta, GA and area further south. Some states along the Gulf could possibly see tornadoes while we see a Indiana sees a blizzard beginning late Christmas night through the day on Wednesday. Accumulation of 6 to 10 inches of snow is expected in the Indianapolis area.

Areas south of Indianapolis could see nearly 5 inches of snow on top of 1 inch of ice.
