(blackmediaSCOOP) It’s about time lol! Author and spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant is getting a reality show on the Oprah Winfrey Network aka OWN.

The project has reportedly been in development for some time, but Vanzant posted an invitation on her Facebook page Monday to a sneak peek of her preparing for and taping “Iyanla, Fix My Life.”

“After much prayer and conscious consideration, I am choosing to move forward with this project as my next step in service to the world. I am so humbled and grateful to have this opportunity to do what I love; on a network that gives me the freedom to be myself; working with people who value what I bring to the table; offering to the people I love (that would be you) a consistent dose of something I believe will facilitate and support the personal growth and spiritual evolution of individuals, families and communities,” Vanzant posted.

Vanzant did not mention a date for the show’s debut, only that it would be “later this year.” This time, last year, fans watched with great interest as Vanzant and Winfrey reconciled on national television.

Just a few months earlier, Vanzant’s instructional memoir, “Peace from Broken Pieces: How to Get Through What You’re Going Through,” was released, chronicling her challenges and triumphs and to demonstrate to others that a commitment to identifying and addressing determination and persistence can take you to the next level, no matter where you may be stuck currently.

While Vanzant had all the trappings of success, she was suffering inner turmoil. Her marriage was falling apart, her daughter was diagnosed with colon cancer, and Vanzant felt everything she appeared to be on the outside was so not what was happening to her behind the scenes.

Yet, as she pushed through the pain of divorce, losing the television show and tragically, the daughter who was her confidante and touchstone, as well as her child, Vanzant discovered the prayer, meditation and lessons learned gave her an opportunity to thrive again, which she shared in the memoir.

It’s been rumored Vanzant was in talks for her own show on Winfrey’s OWN cable channel, but it didn’t happen right away. First came appearances on Winfrey’s popular “Life Class,” but Monday, Vanzant announced the show would become a reality.
