President Barack Obama talks with his daughter Sasha Obama as they watch the WNBA game between the Washington Mystics and Tulsa Shock, Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, in Washington

With Malia Obama away at summer camp, her sister Sasha is getting lots of one-on-one time with the parents.

On Sunday, President Obama took his youngest daughter and one of her friends to watch the WNBA’s hometown Washington Mystics defeat ex-track star Marion Jones’ Tulsa Shock team 87-62.

Obama played basketball against a US Army team before joining his daughter and one of her friends in court-side seats at the Verizon Center, according to reports.

Huge applause greeted the president’s arrival when shown to the crowd on the large scoreboard video screen above the court.

Among the Shock players was Jones, who was forced to give back her medals from the 2000 Sydney Olympics after admitting she took performance-enhancing drugs to help achieve her athletic feats. Jones scored four points, grabbed a rebound and made a steal in nearly nine minutes on the court as a reserve.

Obama has attended basketball games before, including college games involving Georgetown and George Washington. He also watched his hometown Chicago Bulls lose to the Washington Wizards in an NBA game last year.
