INDIANAPOLIS — 34-year-old Tricia K. Cavanaugh was sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to the death of her four-month-old daughter.

Cavanaugh took many drugs, including and oxycodone, before breastfeeding her baby and falling asleep next to her. The child was later found unresponsive and died at the hospital.

Child Services warned Cavanaugh about the dangers of co-sleeping, after another child was removed from her custody.

During her sentence in Delaware Circuit Court, Cavanaugh called herself a “super mom,” the judge responded with doubt.

Judge Douglass Mawhorr responded to Cavanaugh, “I am not so sure about that,” according to the release.
