“She’s all in”…
Tennis star Serena Williams is supporting Nike’s decision to use former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick in its new ad campaign. Williams made the semi-finals of the U.S. Open on Tuesday, and told reporters that Kaepernick has done a lot for the African-American community, and it’s cost him a lot. She said for someone controversial like Kaepernick to be backed by a huge company like Nike is a really powerful statement. Both Williams and Kaepernick have endorsement deals with Nike. Kaepernick sparked a national controversy in 2016 by kneeling during the national anthem before NFL games to protest racial injustice. Williams takes on Anastasija Sevastova in the U.S. Open semi-finals Thursday night.
