In terms of scripted television, the 1990’s was unapologetically Black. Nearly every major network had a sitcom or drama that had an ensemble Black cast, and a favorite for us was FOX’s Living Single starring Queen Latifah.

The show that was based around six friends living in a pre-gentrified Brooklyn ended in 1998 and also starred Erika Alexander, Kim Coles, Kim Fields, Terrence C. Carson and John Henton.

When recently asked by Bravo’s Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live about the classic sitcom returning to television, Queen Latifah alluded to a potential comeback.

As reported by Bravo: When one caller asked if guest Queen Latifah ever thought there could be a revival of the beloved ’90s sitcom, she replied, “Funny you should ask. We’re actually working on it,” adding, “It’s not there yet, but hopefully we can get it happening.”

Queen Latifah went on to say that “the goal” would be to get all of the original cast members to sign on to the reboot. So here’s hoping that Kim Fields, Kim Coles, Erika Alexander, John Henton, and T.C. Carson are as jazzed about the idea as Queen Latifah seems to be. She also said that she plans on producing this Living Single reboot, but when it comes to when and where it will air, Queen Latifah said, “We’re still figuring all that out.”

The 46-year-old is no stranger to producing content having worked on Let’s Stay Together, The Queen Latifah Show and Single Ladies through her production company. So more than likely she’d be an integral part of making this reunion happen.

Alas, all we can do is wait and hope that this happens.
