TV One is exploring new ways to expand the range of their programming. Next month, the network will premiere a new series called For My Man. The show, which will be an hour-long, will delve into the stories of women who have committed crimes for their lovers. According to research, women of color are one of the fasting growing groups in the prison system. The Bureau of Justice Statistics show that over 200,000 of these women have encountered some form of abuse before being put into prison. “Every episode of ‘For My Man’ illustrates a love story gone horribly wrong and with a devastating outcome. News headlines report the aftermath of these scenarios, but ‘For My Man’ pulls viewers deeper into the narrative as the fairytale sours. After watching these stories, viewers may strongly question how far they might go in the name of love,” said D’Angela Proctor, TV One’s Senior Vice President Original Programming and Production. For My Man will debut on Monday, Sept. 7 at 10pm ET. Read more.
