The man who carried an airsoft pellet gun and a hatchet into the Carmike Hickory 8 Cinema in Antioch, Tennessee was killed Wednesday, police said.

The shooting happened a little after 1 p.m. Wednesday during a showing of the film Mad Max: Fury Road. Vincente David Montano, 29, walked into the theater in which seven people were present, The Tennessean reports. Montano was armed with a pellet gun, a hatchet, and two backpacks, with one containing a fake bomb.

Montano pepper sprayed three people, including a 53-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl, and a 58-year-old man. A SWAT team arrived and exchanged gunfire with Montano before he was shot dead. Police later confirmed the pellet gun was a toy.

Montano was previously diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic and his mother said she hadn’t seen him since 2013. He was also homeless and committed for “significant psychiatric or psychological issues,” several times between 2004 and 2007.

This latest movie theater incident comes a few weeks after a 59-year-old man killed two women during a showing of the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck in Lafayette, Louisiana, before killing himself.
