In today’s #YourMoneyMatters Report, it’s all about earning and jobs.

You may be looking for a job or simply want to make a career move and today could be your lucky day for opportunity. There are two job fairs taking place on Wednesday and job seekers are invited. Indiana’s Seventh District Congressman, Andre Carson, is hosting his “6th Annual Central Indiana Job Fair,” today, August 5 at the Ivy Tech Corporate College and Culinary Center, 2820 N. Meridian Street. That’s located in Mid-town Indy. A wide array of companies from across our city are expected there and are looking to hire, some, on the spot. The job fair is free and open to everyone. It begins at  9 a.m and runs until 3 p.m. Dress to impress and be prepared with resumes and ready to fill out applications. Employers who’re attending this job fair and other info is online for you linked to Carson’s website. To check out the list, click HERE.

Also, 40 employees of Double 8 Foods lost their jobs in the grocery business and one Indiana non-profit is stepping up to help them and others connect with careers in the grocery biz. Flanner House is partnering with Kroger to host a job fair this afternoon from Noon until 4 p.m. at their location, 2424 North Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street. Kroger is expanding here in Indianapolis with the opening of more stores and is looking to hire 1,200 new employees in various positions. The same rules apply to this one. Have your resume’s ready and go dressed to impress.
