In response to a picture posted to her Twitter and Facebook accounts that shows son Bobby Deen in a brownface portrayal of Ricky Ricardo (I Love Lucy), Paula Deen has fired her social media manager.

The celebrity chef’s spokesman, Jaret Keller, confirmed that the social media manager was responsible for the #TransformationTuesday photo that showed son Bobby wearing dark makeup to mirror Cuban-born Desi Arnaz’s skin. Deen was dressed in a fiery red wig and a ’50s style outfit for her portrayal of Lucille Ball.

The photo is from a 2011 episode of Deen’s now-canceled Food Network show, Paula’s Best Dishes.

Keller, who said Deen “immediately had this picture taken down as soon as she saw the post,” said the chef “apologizes to all who were offended.”

This isn’t Deen’s first tango with racial insensitivity. A 2013 deposition revealed her use of the N-word around minority employees and an odd affinity for holding a slave-themed wedding for her brother, Bubba.

All of which suggest she has literally learned nothing from her past mistakes.
