The famed wax museum, Madame Tussauds, is making history with plans to create its first transgender wax figure–and an African-American one. It’s Pride Month and in honor of it, which falls every June, Madame Tussauds is immortalizing “Orange Is The New Black” star Laverne Cox in wax at its San Francisco museum. Cox says the honor feels “more improbable and extraordinary” when considering her background as a black transgender woman from Mobile, Alabama. Her figure will officially be unveiled before the end of Pride Month on June 26th.
