Polls across the city and state are now open until 6 p.m. on this Election Day. If you need to confirm your polling place, log on to IndianaVoters.com or call 1-866- IN-1-VOTE.  Remember to bring your photo identification with you to the polls. If you still need to get an I.D. to be able to vote, the Indiana Bureau of Motor vehicles will be open also until 6 p.m. to accommodate.

Winkler Fishers 17 y-o murderer 110414Officers with the Fishers Police Department have arrested a teenager in connection with the Saturday night shooting death of an elderly man, Henry Kim, in the Windermere subdivision. Around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, Fishers police arrested 17-year old Maxwell Winkle. The teen has also been charged with one count of murder. Due to the heinousness of the crime and his age, he will be waived to adult court. In addition to Kim being shot to death, his throat was also slit. Winkle is a student at Hamilton South Eastern High School.

A bicyclist is dead after getting hit by a vehicle on Indy’s northwest side.  The victim identified as a female was struck near West 33rd Street and Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Street at around 9:00 Monday night.  Police say the driver stayed on the scene.

Millions of Americans are already voting on this midterm Election Day. The big national prize in today’s critical election is control of the U.S. Senate. Republicans need to pick up six seats to regain control for the first time since the George W. Bush administration.

Federal officials are monitoring elections specifically in 18 states today.  Attorney General Eric Holder says federal officials will check on whether voters are treated differently based on race, color or disability, and whether polling places are providing bilingual election materials as required by law.

Indiana University’s basketball coach is suspending three players. “The Indianapolis Star” reports Troy Williams and Stanford Robinson are suspended through two regular season games for failing drug tests. Freshman forward Emmit Holt is suspended after an incident leaving teammate Devin Davis in serious condition. Holt was cited for underage drinking after he accidentally hit Davis with his car.

The Indianapolis Colts are back on track after a nationally televised “Monday Night Football” win over the New York Giants on the road.  Quarterback Andrew Luck threw for four touchdowns ending with a final score of 40 to 24.  The Colts are now six and three and in first place in the AFC South. They’re off until November 16th when they’ll host the New England Patriots.
