Recently, Deborah Cox recorded classic Whitney Houston‘s songs for the upcoming Lifetime biopic, “I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story.”

Cox has already recorded one of Houston’s biggest classics “I Will Always Love You.”

TMZ got a hold of the audio of Cox covering the hit and folks in the background listening to Cox sing her rendition cheered her on.

According to Entertainment Weekly, director Angela Bassett shared her good intentions for the film’s portrait on Houston’s life.

“We’re not interested in dragging her life again through, you know, the muck,” she said. “She had to play out her choices, and the consequences of them, in a very hot, glaring spotlight, but we’re not interested in dragging that through again.”

The musical biopic will be released in early 2015 on Lifetime.
