We’re already loving Tank’s “You’re My Star” and I like the way his video is starting to look too! The sultry R&B singer has filed the video for his newest hit and we got the first look for you (thanks to Hip Hollywood).
He told us fans where he got the inspiration behind the classic black and white video.
“I got this Michael Jackson sample and I got this track and I’m trying to figure out what to do with it, where to go with it. And I’m like ‘Hey lets just write a good song.’ You know, people are already going to be in tune because of the nostalgic appeal of Michael Jackson. How do we make it feel like they might have heard it before, but maybe [they] haven’t? How do we get that moment?”
As far as the simplicity of the video, Tank said it’s exactly what he had in mind.
“The video is beauty. The video is art in motion. The video is… WE wanted to really be just visually stimulating. No story line. No craziness where you have to overthink it. Just something you can see. You know what I’m saying? You’re just watching stars just light up in the sky. It’s not like anything overt. It’s not like anything extravagant.”
