It’s the peak of the holiday season so unfortunately that means scams are on the rise as well. The latest victims are Target shoppers. The retail store has announced that 40 million (yes MILLION) credit cards have been breached. Whoever is behind it now has access to the affected customers’ name, credit card number, expiration date of the card and 3-digit security code in the back.
Here is more information that you need to know:
- Shoppers who used their credit card at U.S. Target stores between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15.
- Target’s website has not been affected at all
- Target says the issue has been taken care of.
What YOU can do:
- If you used your credit card at Target between the dates listed above, check your statement for any suspicious activity.
- Let your bank know that you may have been a victim of the scam
