MC Hammer had to set the record straight via Twitter on Sunday after it was reported that he had been sued for allegedly owing nearly $800,000 in back taxes.
The 51-year-old rapper posted a tweet to his more than three million followers on Twitter about his interaction with the Internal Revenue Service.
Hammer posted the message in an apparent response to a TMZ article on Sunday that claimed he and his wife Stephanie were recently sued for $798,033.48 in back taxes.
The article said they had been sued over failure to pay taxes on income earned in 1996 and 1997.
