Ritz Walks Out Of School Board Meeting

State schools chief Glenda Ritz says Governor Mike Pence is undermining work done by the Department of Education. On Wednesday, during a discussion on how to develop new academic standards for math and language arts, Ritz abruptly adjourned the meeting and walked out. She was upset by a proposal to give oversight of career readiness programs to the governor’s Center for Education and Innovation—a move which she says violates state’s law. Ritz says Indiana law states the process of evaluating academic standards is the responsibility of the Department of Education.

He says everyone receiving a shotgun must first pass a background check, and attend safety and tactical training. He’s already armed dozens of people in Texas, where he is attending school.
