Sexy soul singing star Chanté Moore has been on the small screen before – appearing on the iconic daytime TV drama “The Young and the Restless” as well as the award winning sitcom “Girlfriends.”

But now Moore, known for her chart topping R&B songs including “Chante’s Got a Man” will star on “R&B Divas: LA” set to premiere on TV One tomorrow, July 10 at 10pm e/p (9c).

Moore will be joining fellow songbirds Kelly Price, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue, Michel’le, Lil Mo & Claudette Ortiz on the cable TV reality show.

In an exclusive interview, she made an observation about what it’s like being on the show:

“It’s very interesting because all of us are very strong personalities and used to most of the time being in places that we are the ones who are the leaders,” Chante’ said. “So I think it took an adjustment time period for us to kind of jump in as far as speaking (and) figuring out here’s what I want. You want to do this?”

“R&B Divas: Atlanta” was the first divas show on TV One. However, Moore makes it clear that her show won’t be like the one in ATL featuring Faith Evans, among others.

“We are different personalities from them,” she says. “I believe we have our own way, our own feeling to the show, our own tone to it.”

Moore maintains she feels like herself on “R&B Divas: LA.”

“I didn’t feel put-on or that I was pretending. I believe that that’s the greatest part about reality shows – you get to learn about the artist you’ve already heard about a little bit or a lot.”

Her hit song, “Chante’s Got a Man” was written about her first husband, actor Kadeem Hardison perhaps best known as Dwayne Wayne on the TV comedy series A Different World. They divorced in 2000, four years after their daughter Sophia was born and three years after they wed. Well, Chante still doesn’t have a man – in 2011 she divorced fellow singer Kenny Lattimore following nine years of matrimony. They have a son, Kenny Jr., who was born in 2003.

Now that she’s been single for two years, is Moore looking for that special man again? She laughed a bit at the question before admitting …

“I want to date and if there’s good prospects and I feel connected with somebody I’ll go on a date or two or three!” But when it comes to marriage, “I’m not interested in getting married anytime soon.”

She’s not ashamed to say that “absolutely” the reason she doesn’t want to walk down the aisle for a third time is because of her ex-husbands but there is more to it than that.

“I’m just ready just to be still. I find that I’m extremely introspective. I love to date. I love to be in love. I love to enjoy another man’s company. So, that’s fun. But, I don’t want to get married right now.”

What she is planning to do right now is release a new album, “Moore is More,” on July 10 – the same day as “R&B Divas: LA” premieres, “It’s about my life since the last record,” she says.

Moore’s last album, “Love the Woman“, came out in 2008, “I’ve been through quite a bit since then,” she says. “There’s a whole lot I have poured my heart into. There are songs that are talking about very sensitive subjects – things that I really can’t talk about, but I will sing about.”

The first single from the album will be “Talking in My Sleep.”
