The Apollo Theater announced Tuesday that Emmy Award-winning entertainer Wayne Brady will host their 8th annual Spring Gala honoring legendary singer Chaka Khan.

In addition to performances by Patti LaBelle, Jennifer Holliday, Alexandra Burke and Mary J. Blige, the June 10th event will also feature an appearance by Erykah Badu, who will present the “I’m Every Woman” songtress with the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame award.

“I am honored that the Apollo is inducting me into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame,” Khan said in a press release. “The Apollo Theater is an American institution and is world-renowned for developing, nurturing, and creating talent for decades. The Apollo Theater has supported my career and now they are a part of honoring my legacy. I am looking forward to the celebration.”

Other previous inductees include LaBelle, Lionel Richie, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin among others.

Proceeds from the Spring Gala will support the Apollo’s year-round performing arts events, education initiatives, and community programs. To purchase tickets or make a donation to the 2013 Spring Gala head over to the Apollo Theater’s official site.
