The Los Angeles Times reports Whitney Houston was found unresponsive in her room at the Beverly Hills Hilton by members of her entourage.

At a press conference Saturday night, a Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman said people in Houston’s party called paramedics. Some firefighters were already in the hotel working a gala Houston planned to attended and tried to revive her.

Police provided no further details on her death, other than to say there were no signs of foul play.

“There were no obviously signs of criminal intent,” Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said, adding it’s unclear if she died from natural causes or something else.

Paramedics found Houston unresponsive and performed CPR for about 20 minutes before the pop star was declared dead.

Authorities said that they did not yet have have a cause of death but that there were no signs of foul play.
