One of the nation's largest police organizations apologizes for historic mistreatment of minorities. The group's president urged law enforcement to acknowledge its role in causing poor relations with communities of color.

Chicago's Independent Police Review authority, which investigates claims of misconduct and excessive force, released the videos derived from 101 cases.

According to the FBI, only twice in 60 years have police deaths fallen under 41. In 2013, the year that preceded the recent spike, police deaths hit a record low of 27. In 1961, there were 37 police deaths.
