Indianapolis – Metro Police are searching for a person of interest in connection with weekend shootings that left ten people wounded in three separate incidents.

Police want to speak to Shamus Patton. Investigators with Metro Police have been reviewing videotape from Saturday night when the shootings occurred in downtown Indianapolis, when large crowds were in the streets for Indiana Black Expo events.

The youngest victim was just 10 years old, and the oldest was 19.

Patton is 17 years old, 5’7″ and 220 pounds. They are calling him a person of interest in the shootings.

Over the weekend, Indianapolis Public Safety Director Frank Straub said the gunman was caught on tape by crime cameras.

Federal authorities may be assisting Metro Police in their search for Patton. They are still “gathering intel and doing leg work.”

The city has discussed establishing a “secure zone” requiring anyone entering to submit to a weapons check.
