“And here we go.”

Senator Bernie Sanders is releasing ten years of tax returns. The Vermont independent and Democratic presidential hopeful reported a total income of over one-million-dollars in 2016 and 2017 after the release of a book covering his first presidential run. The boost in income meant he had to pay more in taxes, which he says was both an “obligation and investment” in the country. In a statement, he also pledged to make the tax system more progressive so that the American dream is achievable for everyone. Sanders has been pressured to release more information about his taxes since officially launching his presidential campaign in February.
