The Goldman family lawyer is seeking to collect a 1997 civil jury award from O.J. Simpson. The “L.A. Times” says attorney David Cook told CNN the 33-million-dollars Simpson was ordered to pay to the victims’ families has since ballooned to almost 70-million with interest. O.J. was acquitted by a Los Angeles jury in 1995 of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in a criminal trial. A civil jury later found there was enough evidence to hold Simpson accountable for their murders. Only a fraction of the award money has ever been collected.
