@kwellscomm TLCNaptown.com News & Talk —

A multiple award-winning poet and educator is visiting Indianapolis to share his gift of children’s literature and encouragement on Saturday, November 12.

The Central Library location of the Indianapolis Public Library will be a feast of rhyme and verse at 12 Noon with Kwame Alexander and you’re invited. Alexander who’s a New York Times best-selling children’s author, known most recently for his 2015 Newberry Medal-winning book, “The Crossover” will lecture, sign books and more as a part of the library’s Fall Fest 2016.

Alexander and I spent some time talking about his work, why it’s important particularly when there’s a lot of anxiety after this election, and helping kids by example.

Click the media player below and listen to my “Access Indy with Kim Wells” conversation with the enlightened and entertaining, Kwame Alexander, before you go meet him and take your children to this program hosted by the library’s African American History Committee on Saturday.

AUDIO (TOTAL RUNNING TIME: 10 MINS, 08 SECONDS) begins after a message from a valued tlcnaptown.com sponsor:

Fall Fest 2016 will be held in the Clowes Auditorium of Central Library, located downtown Indy at 40 East St. Clair Street.
