Prince would have been 58 today and the country is celebrating in different ways. The governor of Minnesota declared today officially “Prince Day” in the legend’s home state. Dayton encouraged it’s people to wear purple, Cleveland is having a “Let’s Go Crazy” dance party at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and of course, your city Indianapolis is playing Prince all day of course and a special IMAX screening of Purple Rain tonight at the Indiana State Museum.

A little bit over a month ago BET threw some major shade at the Billboard Music Awards for their Prince tribute which starred Madonna, saying “We saw that….We Got You” Well they announced that their Prince tribute will include performances by Sheila E., The Roots, D’Angelo, Janelle Monae and others. Alicia Keys and Maxwell will also be performing at the awards show.
