Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving is not having a good Monday. The All-Star guard, a linchpin in the Cavs offense along with LeBron James and Kevin Love has been having a good year so far, as Cleveland recently clinched a playoff berth and is widely viewed as the only hope to derail the Golden State Warriors dynasty in the making.

Unfortunately, Irving, 24, became a trending topic on social media for all the wrong reasons. His girlfriend, upcoming R&B star Kehlani, 20, was outed by a Drake associate, singer/songwriter PartyNextDoor (or officially, Jahron Braithwaite) when he posted a pic of Kehlani’s hand in his bed recently. The two had been dating, but had broken up before she and Irving got together.

The world, or those who keep up with these things, realized it was Kehlani because of her distinctive hand tattoo.

If you have no idea who any of these folks are, carry on. But by midday, Irving was the leading trending topic on Twitter and among the top 10 trending topics on Facebook, and not because he’s averaging 20 points, 5 assists and shooting over 86% from the free thrown line while helping the Cavs to an Eastern Conference-leading 52 wins.

Party Next Door has since deleted the post. Kehlani has deleted her Instagram.

Irving’s post from today was this:

(For those curious, it’s a Hamsa symbol, believed to protect you from the evil or envious eye)

Although Internet scuttlebutt speculated that the couple had broken up already, just 2 weeks ago, Irving posted a pic of the couple, captioning it with “Good ole fashioned partners” and @ting Kehlani.

Somehow, Ayesha Curry, Steph Curry’s wife was dragged into it via Twitter as well, because, well, because Twitter, but mostly because of speculation that if her wholesome Christian image was ever tarnished by anything like this, Black Twitter would spontaneously combust.

Sadly for fans of love, Kehlani and Irving had been professing their love across social media and on their respective accounts for some time.

Dang, Kyrie. We hope this all works out somehow.
