WUSA9 reports:

MPD announced those searches Thursday morning. The searches started shortly after.

The source, who works for MPD, said investigators would search in the area of Montana Avenue and Bladensburg Road NE, specifically near a stalled construction site. Eighty people including the FBI and MPD will search the old construction site for evidence of Rudd, according to police chief.

A spokesperson for the FBI, did not confirm the possibility of new searches, but told WUSA the following:

“The FBI Washington Field Office continues to assist the Metropolitan Police Department with the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Relisha Rudd.  From the start of this investigation, we have provided our partners resources to aid their efforts and we will do so until she is found. One of the FBI’s top priorities is protecting children from violent crimes and we remain committed to finding Relisha or any child that goes missing.”
