The hits keep coming from the Aaliyah biopic that aired over the weekend on Lifetime. Producer Timbaland posted a series of videos to his Instagram account denouncing Lifetime’s controversial Aaliyah biopic, “Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B” which he called a mockery of Aaliyah’s life and not accurate, which aired on Saturday night.

“A lot of people keep asking me if I’m watching that bullsh—,” Timbaland said in one clip, referring to the Lifetime film about the late R&B singer.

“Evidently not. No way. Not Timbo,” the producer added.

Despite lashing out at Lifetime and the film’s executive producer, Wendy Williams, on social media,in a radio interview in New York, the hit-making producer says he’s hesitant to blame either for what he believes are the film’s shortcomings. He adds that he simply doesn’t have enough information about how the project came together and doesn’t want to hurl unfounded accusations at anyone. Timbaland also says he was touched by the number of messages he received from Aaliyah’s supporters.
