"Scandal" Season Two Finale Event

The Hollywood Reporter plans to honor the woman behind hit shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder. Shonda Rhimes will be presented with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award. Her production company Shondaland is producing hit shows that have been taking over.

“Over the past decade, Shonda Rhimes has completely redefined the way women are perceived on television — and therefore in society too,” Sherry Lansing said. “She’s created iconic roles for women; and she’s also been a pioneering force in leading the way for African-American women in the media. She’s a creative, intellectual and artistic powerhouse, and I’m thrilled she’ll receive the award that carries my name.”

Oprah was the recipient of the Sherry Lansing Leadership Awards last year. This year Shonda Rhimes will be wearing the crown. She will be presented with the award during the Women in Entertainment Breakfast on December 10 in Los Angeles.
