The first person diagnosed with Ebola on American soil is said to be fighting for his life. CDC Director Tom Frieden announced Sunday that the patient being treated in Dallas, Thomas Eric Duncan, has “taken a turn for the worse.” Duncan became ill after arriving in Dallas from Liberia two weeks ago. Despite the news, Frieden continued to stress the threat of an Ebola outbreak in the U.S. is highly unlikely. Ten people who have been confirmed to have had contact with the patient are quarantined and haven’t shown any signs of sickness. More than 33-hundred people have died as a result of the Ebola outbreak in three western African countries.
