The former manager of N.W.A. is speaking out against the upcoming film based on the group. In an interview with “The Murder Master Music Show,” Jerry Heller says he’s disappointed that he hasn’t been contacted about the film, which is produced by former group members Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. He didn’t single anyone out, but he says the filmmakers “have their own agenda.” While he doesn’t know who will play him in the film, Heller hopes they portray him truthfully. He says if the filmmakers don’t treat him “properly,” he will have “some kind of recourse.”
“Straight Outta Compton” is set to star Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. as his father. Corey Hawkins will play Dr. Dre, while Jason Mitchell will take on the role of the late Eazy-E. Directed by F. Gary Gray, the film is set to arrive on August 14th, 2015.
