Although some kids are just now getting out of school, others have been out for a few weeks.  Congratulations to all of the graduates of 2014…get up, get out and get started with life.  Before you do, check out some of the events going on in or around Indy this weekend.

  • Join your WTLC family today at IUPUI to help find a cure for Lupus. Registration starts at 9am and the walk at 10am.   • Get ready for a weekend of clean cars, fun music, games, food and much more at the 10th Annual Slamology Automotive Extravaganza at Lucas Oil Raceway.  Open today until 7pm and Sunday 9-6pm; plus the kicker is kids under 10 are free :)  For more details call 317.856.1810 or go online to
  •  The Butterfly Kaleidoscope is still in town until September at White River Gardens.  See native and exotic species, plus visit the butterfly station.  While at White River, check out the Indianapolis Zoo and their new Orangutan exhibit.   Call 317.630.2001 or see the web site at
  • The Annual Neighborhood yard Sale is in McCord Park today until 3pm.  It’s located in the Watson Park Historic District and you can visit the 15+ tent for great deals, refreshments and more.  See  for more details.  McCord Park is located at 36th and Watson Rd.
  • Have questions about your mortgage or with assistance in obtaining a mortgage?  Check out the Mortgage Event at Indiana Members Credit Union off of Madison Ave from 9am-1pm for refreshments and questions answered with no pressure.  See for more details.
  • It’s that time of year again.  Time for the 59th Annual Talbot Street Art Fair in Indianapolis.  View artwork from over 200 artists from across the nation.  Admission is free and is located a Herron Morton Place Neighborhood off of Talbot St. See the web site at for more details.
  • Check out the Strawberry Festival and BBQ at Lawrence United Methodist Church located off of Shadeland Ave.  Not only can you enjoy the shortcake and strawberry pie, but ice cream, live music and more.  It all ends tonight at 8pm so visit the web site for more information at
  • If you haven’t had a chance to see the art of wine-making, check out Grape to Glass Winery Tour at Easley Winery off of College Ave.  It’s held each Sat/Sun starting at 12noon.  No reservations required,  See or give them a call at 317.636.4516. Plus after your tour stay for Groovin’ in the Garden from 2-5pm as part of the free music series which runs every Saturday until the end of September.
  • Mary Poppins is still at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre through the end of June.  Show time vary, see for more details and prices.
  • There’s a parish festival with games, rides food and more happening at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish for International Festival.  The church is located off of West 34th street and runs until midnight tonight.  See for more details.
  • Another festival to check out is at Holy Angels Parish off of West 28th street from 3-11pm. More music, food, kids activities and much more.  See for details.
  • “So You Think You Got Talent” is a variety show at Pike Performing Arts Center with over 20 acts.  Ticket prices vary starting at $10, plus there will be a winner.  Be a part of the live audience, recording and fun.  See for more details.
  • Enjoy a 3 course dinner for a great price at more than 40 midtown restaurants’ as part of the Chow Down Midtown in Indianapolis,  Reservations may be required at some venues.  Chow Down ends this Fathers Day, call 317.673.4211 or see for a list of participating restaurants.
  • The All Stars of Indiana basketball are back battling against Kentucky as a part of the All Star Basketball game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.  It all kicks off after the girls game at 5pm.  Tickets available at Ticketmaster or the box office.  Visit for prices.
  • One of my favorites, the Italian Street Festival is back at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  If you want some of the best Italian food and wine, this is the place to be. Plus music, rides, beer and more.  Admission is free along with the parking.  Holy Rosary is located at 520 Stevens St. in Indianapolis, see for information.
  • Baseball is alive tonight at Victory Field as our Indianapolis Indians take on the Durham Bulls, weather permitting.  Tickets available at Ticketmaster or the box office.  See more details at
