FIRST LOOK: ‘Get on Up’: The James Brown Story [Trailer]

The James Brown biopic “Get on Up” is making it’s way to  theaters Aug. 1, and the film shows the key moments in Brown’s life. The movies director, Tate Taylor says it is not a linear, cradle-to-grave biopic.

“It’s all who he is, but we’re going to put it on shuffle instead of play.”

Chadwick Boseman is charged with re-creating Brown’s charisma onscreen. Biopics aren’t new to him: He portrayed baseball icon Jackie Robinson in last year’s “42.”
