Schools and Businesses Delayed Due to Frigid Temps in Indy

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until Noon on Friday due to frigid temperatures. The subzero temperature make being outside in the elements dangerous for long periods. Exposed skin could freeze causing frostbite within minutes. Taking precautions, some schools and businesses are operating on two-hour delays today, including the state’s second largest school district Indianapolis Public Schools, according to a tweet the district sent on Thursday.

Other services that will be affected Friday include trash removal service. The service was stopped on Thursday because of the bitter cold. The Department of Public Works is taking precautions to protect its workers and equipment. If you typically have Friday service, expect trash pick-up on Sunday. For routes that were stopped on Thursday, expect trash pick-up on Saturday.
