Film director Lee Daniels joined Arsenio Hall in front of the camera Monday night on “The Arsenio Hall Show.”

“The Butler” director talked about his motivation behind making films and why he’s not bothered with the lack of nominations this awards season. Daniels also opened up about growing up gay in the ghetto and how it affected his relationship with his father.

Actress Naomie Harris from the Nelson Mandela biopic, “Long Walk to Freedom,” also joined Arsenio on the couch. Harris looked back on her time with the Mandela family and recalled how and when the film’s cast found out about Nelson Mandela’s passing.
