West Orange High School has been placed on lockdown as the victim was transported to a nearby hospital.
A student was reportedly shot Wednesday afternoon at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Fla., according to a school spokesperson.
The shooting occurred near a soccer field as school was letting out, WESH reported.
A student told the Orlando Sentinel that the shooting happened after a fight broke out at the end of the day.
Officials are searching for a black male suspect wearing either a pink shirt or white tank top and white shorts.
Student Kaitlyn Hawkins told the Sentinel that the shooter was a boy who had been suspended from school, but she didn’t know his name.
