An Indianapolis father sits in jail after police say he held his 5-year-old son out a third-story window and dropped him.

Brandon Jordan, 32, was charged with neglect of a dependent and criminal recklessness.

Around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2100 block of North Catherwood Avenue, near Arlington and 21st Street.

Witnesses told police they saw a man holding a child out of a window and drop him.

Police went to the apartment where Brandon K. Jordan admitted to officers that he held the child outside of the window to teach him a lesson. He told officers he accidentally dropped the child.

Police saw no obvious signs of injury on the five year old when they arrived.

CPS was contacted and was planning on following up with the family.
