HOTHIPHOPDETROIT.COM – Twitter is a buzz with news that Nathaniel D. Hale, known in the music industry as Nate Dogg, died Tuesday, his family announced.

The rap star, born and reared in Long Beach, Calif. was 41.

Cause of death is not known. However, Hale had suffered two strokes, one in 2007 and another in 2008.

Nate Dogg to me will always be seen as a pioneer in my mind. Singing on hip-hop songs and adding melodies wasn’t the thing to do until songs like “Regulators” and “Aint No Fun” hit the music world. Indeed Nate Dogg built a legendary status even though his time on earth was too short. Well respected in the industry Nate will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace.
