Chicago teachers who cross the picket line on April 1 could get kicked out of the union. Union delegates voted in favor of a one-day strike, and union leaders say all members must comply.
The Chicago Teachers Union announced Wednesday that it will launch a one-day strike on April Fool's Day, and is asking the entire city to join them in their efforts. The union says the impetus for the strike is a call for justice although there are several competing aims, DNAinfo Chicago reports
On Monday in Detroit, Mich., a so-called "sickout" left nearly two-thirds of the city's public school system closed as teachers instead rallied together to address health and safety concerns.
