*TV One offers a Thanksgiving weekend lineup full of entertainment, family and fun, including the Thanksgiving Day airing of the classic movie” The Wiz,” all-day marathons of “Good Times” and TV One original programming, and an Alex Haley double feature of mini-series ‘Mama Flores Family” and Christmas classic “Roots: The Gift.”

On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 25, TV One offers a family oriented lineup that includes:

6 AM – noon     mini-marathon of Thanksgiving-themed sitcoms

Noon – 1 PM:   Essence Presents: Faith Through the Storm – Five years after Hurricane Katrina, this documentary chronicles the trials and triumphs of two daughters of New Orleans amidst the backdrop of the Essence Music Festival’s Empowerment Seminar and Gospel Salute.

1 – 3 PM: TV One Night Only: Live From the Essence Music Festival – This 2-hour highlights celebration captures exhilarating performances from some of the biggest names in entertainment that occurred over three nights on the main stage, at the 2010 event, including Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Earth, Wind & Fire, Raphael Saadiq, Gladys Knight and  Charlie Wilson.

3 – 6 PM: The Wiz – Sidney Lumet directed this classic. African-American musical  retelling of The Wizard Of Oz, starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Nipsey Russell, Richard Pryor, Quincy Jones, Lena Horne, Ted Ross, Mabel King and Toto.

6 – 8 PM: Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Celebration Concert – the all-star concert salute to the “King of Pop” which celebrated his 30 years as a solo performer that includes his first performing reunion with his brother in 17 years, and appearances or performances by Destiny’s Child, Whitney Houston, Usher, ‘N Sync, 98 Degrees, James Ingram, Gloria Estefan, Mya, Chris Tucker, Samuel L. Jackson, Liza Minnelli and a host of others..

8 – 11 PM : The Wiz

Omarosa in TV One’s “Donald Trump Presents the Ultimate Merger”

On Friday, Nov. 26, the network will air a day-long marathon of TV One originals, including:

6 AM–2:30 PM:  Donald J. Trump Presents The Ultimate Merger – Donald Trump and Omarosa are reunited in this series created by Trump in which Omarosa puts a cadre of 12 hot, successful bachelors through a gauntlet of tests in her  quest to find a mate.

2:30 -6:30 PM:   K-Ci and JoJo. . .Come Clean – offers a close up view of two of urban music’s most beloved singers as they rise up and tackle the biggest challenge of their lives sobriety.   Rapidly approaching the point of no return, the two brothers agree to begin a journey of redemption that will  require them to face all their demons and sources of the anxiety that have pushed them to self-medicate, including their relationship with each other,  and their former partners in the group Jodeci.

6:30 – 10 PM:   LisaRaye: The Real McCoy – LisaRaye, the beautiful, outspoken star of film and television and former First Lady of the Turks and Caicos, is  moving forward with her new  life, and TV One captures the unvarnished journey in as she works to fully re-establish her critically acclaimed acting career, while balancing a far-flung and complex personal life.

10 PM – 6 AM   Unsung – TV One’ acclaimed series celebrates the lives and careers of successful artists or groups who, despite great talent, over the years have been  under-recognized or under-appreciated, or, in some instances, whose story has remain untold.

On Saturday, Nov. 27, TV One airs a marathon of beloved, classic family sitcom Good Times from 1 PM – 6 AM.

To wrap up the Thanksgiving programming weekend, TV One offers an Alex Haley double feature on Sunday, Nov. 28, with:

6 – 10 PM:    Mama Flora’s Family – Covering the 1920s-1970s, this mini-series centers on Mama Flora, the matriarch of a large black family who is determined to   keep her brood together and close to their God during rapidly changing and tempestuous times.  Stars include Queen Latifah, Hill Harper, Erika Alexander, Cicely Tyson, Blair Underwood, and Mario Van Peebles.

10 -11 PM:    Roots: The Gift – a Christmas movie featuring two of the most memorable characters from the original Roots mini-series; Kunta Kinte, played by LeVar Burton and Fiddler, played by Louis Gossett Jr.  Roots: The Gift is set between the time period of Parts 2 and 3 of the original series and gives viewers a Christmas tale that was not told in the original mini-series.
