The Year was 1984 and Indianapolis was about to experience one of the nations hottest concert tours. It was the “Fresh Fest” and it was one of the most incredible rap tours Indianapolis would ever witness. Imagine, Run DMC, Whodini, Newcleus, The Fat Boys, and Kurtis Blow all on one show. It was incredible! I remember walking out on stage to welcome the audience on behalf of the station, and feeling the electricity in the air. What a night!!!! The tour was hip-hop’s first big money maker, pulling in ($3.5 million for 27 dates).  Now the “Fresh Fest” is back! This time it’s called the “New York City Fresh Fest.” This Fresh Fest will feature one of the original Fresh Fest performers, the one and only Kurtis Blow, along with Kool Moe Dee, Rakim of Eric B and Rakim fame, and Mr. Cinderfella himself Dana Dane. The “New York City Fresh Fest” happens Saturday November 28th, 2009 at The Indiana Convention Center. Tickets are availible at the Lucas Oil Stadium Box Office or any Ticket Master located.
