Former Shelbyville School Board Member Arrested by FBI
SHELBYVILLE, Ind — Federal agents have arrested David Finkel in Shelbyville.
The FBI tells WIBC that agents took Finkel into custody Monday morning on a federal arrest warrant. They didn’t release what charges he’s facing, saying the investigation is still active.
Finkel’s arrest comes less than two weeks after agents searched his home on West Broadway Street. That June 5 search was reportedly part of a federal child pornography investigation.
Since then, people in Shelbyville have been asking questions, mainly about what would happen next and what this means for their community.
Finkel had served as vice president of the Shelbyville Central Schools Board and was also known for his work with the Strand Theatre downtown.
