Sherri Shepherd Confirms Nia Long Confronted Her

Sherri Shepherd revealed that Nia Long was the celebrity who accused her of shading her at the premiere of Othello on Broadway. Shepherd denied the accusation and expressed confusion about the incident, stating that she has no beef with Long. “The only time I’ve ever talked about Nia Long is when she went through with her partner [when] there was infidelity,” she said, seemingly referring to the actress’ split from Ime Udoka, who allegedly had an affair with a female subordinate within the team’s organization. “I supported her and… [said] she deserves to have a good man to be with her.”

She continued, “I think Nia Long maybe confused me with someone… I have no idea who she thought was shading her, but it was not me. I have no beef with Nia Long. I’m a fan of hers.”

She invited Long to her show to clear up any misunderstandings and emphasized that she uses her life experiences as material for her comedy. Shepherd recounted the encounter on her talk show and expressed her willingness to resolve the issue with Long.
