Mary J. Blige and production crew “The Clutch,” which includes R&B singer Keri Hilson, are being sued for copyright infringement over Blige’s hit single “Take Me As I Am.”

In the lawsuit filed in US District Court in the Central District of California, songwriters Jay Ballard and Kim Jones claim Blige and The Clutch stole their track, which was released in 1995, and used it for her hit 2005 song of the same name.

The Clutch – Keri Hilson (Britney Spears’ “Gimme More”), Balewa Muhammad ( Ciara’s “Like A Boy”), Candice Nelson (Mary J. Blige’s “Take Me As I Am”), j.Que ( Usher’s “Yeah!”) and Ezekiel Lewis ( Omarion’s “Ice Box”)

Ballard and Jones seek an accounting for all singles and albums sold in all formats, royalties and an accounting of publishing income derived from using the song in advertisements.

The Clutch has produced a number of hits for artists like Justin Bieber, Keri Hilson, Omarion, Britney Spears, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, Timbaland and others.
